Spanish Pronunciation

Linking

You may not have ever noticed, but in normal conversational English we frequently blend one word into the next. Consider this example:

  • I had an egg for breakfast.

Say the above sentence quickly, as in normal conversation. Most people will say something more like:

  • I hadden eggfor breakfast.

Spanish speakers also link words together. Listen to these examples and note how the words are linked. Then, try to imitate the native speaker.

Describa el dolor.
Describe the pain.
¿Quiere otra almohada?
Would you like another pillow?
¿La picó una abeja?
Were you stung by a bee?
