Spanish Pronunciation
Linking
You may not have ever noticed, but in normal conversational English we frequently blend one word into the next. Consider this example:
- I had an egg for breakfast.
Say the above sentence quickly, as in normal conversation. Most people will say something more like:
- I hadden eggfor breakfast.
Spanish speakers also link words together. Listen to these examples and note how the words are linked. Then, try to imitate the native speaker.
- Describa el dolor.
- Describe the pain.
- ¿Quiere otra almohada?
- Would you like another pillow?
- ¿La picó una abeja?
- Were you stung by a bee?
