Object Pronouns

Here are a couple of examples of the direct object pronouns:

Lo voy a ayudar a sentarse.: I'm going to help you sit down.
I'm going to help him sit down.

In the above example, the direct object is "lo" (you, him) and that's what you would use if speaking to, or about, a male.

La voy a ayudar a sentarse.: I'm going to help you sit down.
I'm going to help her sit down.

In the above example, the direct object is "la" (you, her) and that's what you would use if speaking to, or about, a female.
